Group training classes are a fantastic controlled environment for your dog to develop skills and learn how to behave around other dogs.
Having a controlled environment can help to develop your dog’s skills, whether puppy, adolescent or older. Working to improve your connection and training with your dog can be highly beneficial.
Classes include Puppy training, Adolescent and older dog improvers, Gundog Foundation and Improvers.
You want your dog to be well trained, have good manners and respond when asked. You want to become the centre of your dog’s world. We aim to help our owners achieve this through our group training.
Classes are held at a secure field easily accessible just outside Leckhampton Village. The exercises are fun and simple, yet effective to develop your dogs important skills.
We don’t have you sitting around watching but get you working during the majority of the session with regular short breaks, so your dog learns to cope when nothing is happening too.
We keep classes small so we can provide individual coaching in class as each dog will learn differently and we want you to progress your dog’s learning. Notes and homework are provided to keep you learning between sessions and you can contact us for advice in-between sessions too for support with common issues.
Our aim is to help you to become the centre of your dog’s world.
In our Puppy/Beginners class (Saturday @ 9.45am) we provide a solid training foundation and cover:
Our Improver class (Tues at 11.10am or Saturday at 11.00am) follows on from Puppy group but is suitable for any dog at any age and includes a wide range of training exercises including:
Gundog Training – If you have a gundog breed (Retriever, Spaniel, HPR or a cross of these), Gundog training aims to help you harness the dog’s breed traits to build the engagement and interaction between dog and handler. We do this using positive reinforcement techniques.
We provide a Gundog foundation level course over 8 weeks which provides the basics, including retrieving, heel walking, recall, steadiness and other aspects too.
Our Gundog Improver course, develops on the foundation level over 8 weeks and especially brings in additional retrieves and more handling to develop your dog’s abilities.
We like to enjoy training and also ensure we use methods that are effective. Everything we
do is about both the handler and dog enjoying themselves and learning at a pace that works for all.
We train outside in a secure environment, with dogs kept at a distance from each other to
ensure the dog is able to remain calm and focused to build the interaction and engagement on the
handler.
We provide access to support between sessions, so our customers are able to provide
feedback, updates and questions to make sure maximum progress is achieved.
