Founder and Head of Walking

Bryony

I live in Cheltenham with my family and 2 dogs, Florence, a Lab/Terrier cross, and our Working Golden Retriever, Odin. I have been running Cotswold Hound since 2014. I've always loved dogs, my earliest memories being playing with a litter of Newfoundland pup's in Scotland where my relatives fed them porridge and eggs for their breakfast! I set up Cotswold Hound to provide the best care and support for dog owners with our approach being based on exercise, enrichment and engagement.

I manage a carefully handpicked team of vetted and experienced dog walkers in Cheltenham and Gloucestershire who are first aid trained and fully insured. We pay attention to getting to know the needs of individual dogs. Walking groups are built on harmonious packs of no more than 4 dogs. We see this as important to make sure we provide the right level of care and interaction to the dogs we look after. Our team and clients benefit from the support of our in-house dog trainer and behaviour specialist who helps to support and motivate your dog in the most positive way possible.

Barnaby

Like many trainers my training journey started due to challenges with my own dog. I grew up with dogs and animals, however when we got Florence, a Patterdale/Labrador cross who was very fearful and reactive, we had to learn and adapt to help support her. Seeing the transformation in her behaviour using techniques for her individual nature spurred on the desire to learn more. I'm driven to help owners develop their bond with their dogs. It’s really rewarding to see the difference it can make. I’ve now been working with dogs for over 10 years and have worked with nearly 1000 different dogs.

I am proud to be a fully qualified & accredited member of the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers (IMDT). I am committed to continual learning to provide the latest training approaches to support owners and their dogs using ethical, kind and effective dog training methods. I love working with my customers to help progress their dog’s development. I only use modern, ethical, effective training techniques and will always put your dog's welfare at the heart of everything I do. I am committed to doing my very best for every dog & owner I work with.

"I love dogs, big or small and all the different breeds and genuinely love walking. My regular dogs include a mixture couple of fun-loving cockapoo's, a show cocker and a Schnauzer. I am getting to know the unique personalities of the dogs I am walking and together we are discovering many new and lovely walks. My favorite walks include starting in Burrows field then heading up Leckhampton Hill through the fields behind St Peters Church, Barber woods and exploring Daisybank."

“I’ve always loved dogs and being able to work with them at Cotswold Hound is a dream come true! I love getting to know each dog's personality and making their walks as enriching as possible. I grew up around rescue dogs and I have always been interested in learning about dog behaviour and training. There is nothing better than being able to enjoy a walk in the Gloucestershire countryside with the dogs!”

Bethany
